Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you have a service area?

A. We welcome clients from all over the country to come and use our animal boarding facilities. We understand you may not wish to travel too far, however if you are from out of Yorkshire and are planning a holiday in the UK you may find we are on route or close to where you are staying.

Q. What animals can you look after?

A. We are currently focused on and set up for the care of reptiles, tortoises, rabbits & parrots. However we are happy to make arrangements to take care of any animal that falls into the exotic category from arachnids to Zebra Finches!

Q. Do you look after Cats and Dogs?

A. We do not hold the required licensing to take Cats or Dogs into our home establishment.

Q. Can you look after animals that fall into the DWA Category?

A. Unfortunately we cannot accept care of animals in this category due to strict DWA licensing regulations.

Q. Can I view your boarding facilities before hand?

A. In the interest of security we will only show people that have already made a booking with us.

We would be more than happy to then show you around once you arrive at our property. Up untill then we can take and send as many pictures as you would like.

Q. What security measures do you have in place?

A. Outside our home we have several CCTV cameras and there are a combination of other security measures in place to ensure the safety of your animals. Both our reptile room and tortoise house have individual locks for added security.

Q. How do I make a booking?

A. Please get in touch via phone, email or direct message and we let you know our availability.

Q. What do I need to bring for my pets stay?

A. This will depend entirely on the individual animal. If you have booked one of our parrot cages, vivarium’s or tortoise enclosures then all you would be required to bring is your pets usual diet & any medication they may need and we will provide the rest. For invertebrates & amphibians we would require you to bring some form of accommodation.

Q. Can I bring any furnishings or enrichment for my pets stay?

A. In the interest of parasite control and hygiene between boarders we prefer to use our own furnishings, however if you require to bring something additional for medical reasons this is not a problem.

Q. What do you clean your enclosures with?

A. We use F10 disinfectant for the majority of our cleaning. This is a veterinary disinfectant which is active against viruses, bacteria, fungi and spores.

Q. What can I expect to happen during my pets stay?

A. Because our business is run from our home establishment, your pets will be with us 24/7. Expect regular checks throughout the day and feeding schedule tailored to your own personal requirement. We exercise and enrich our boarders by allowing them time in our large secure garden (weather permitting). We will also showcase there progress and daily activities on social media if you choose to sign a release form upon booking in.

Q. What if my pet requires medication?

A. We are experienced and confident with delivering a range of medications to animals. Simply let us know upon arrival what your pet needs are and we will fill out a separate medication form so we have all the information we require. You will not be charged extra for this.

Q. What happens if my pet needs to go to the vets?

A. If we feel your pet requires veterinary treatment during their stay we will contact you before hand to update you and see if you are happy to proceed. If we cannot reach you in the event of an emergency, we will seek veterinary advice.

Q. How can I pay for my booking?

A. We have a card reader or you can pay via a bank transfer. We require payment up front when checking in with your pet/pets.

Q. When can I drop off and pick up my pet?

A. After you have made a booking with us we will arrange a drop off / collection time slot with you.

What happens when you book with us?

Due to the extensive range of potential species we may take on, we price some of our services based on the accommodation chosen rather than the species its-self. This means for example, you could book one of our vivarium’s and add any suitable animal of your choice and pay the same fixed price.

We also offer a second animal at half price if you wish to put two suitable animals in one enclosure together.

Please note: we will advise against booking specific animals in certain enclosures if we feel it is not a good fit. In this instance we will do our best to provide an alternative.

All boarding fees must be paid in full upon drop off or of animals at our residence. Your fee will be stated on your boarding agreement form. For specific costs on our services please refer to our prices page.

Arriving At Our Residence

When you arrive at our home residence with your pet/pets you will be required to complete and sign a number of disclaimers and a boarding policy. The forms require you to complete some personal information and also some information on your pets (see privacy policy for further details). This information will only be processed if we require it to provide assistance with your pets stay in any way (e.g. to contact your vets).

All other times information you provide is stored in a secure area in accordance with GDPR .

During Your Pets Stay

All pets will receive a full health check upon arrival and any causes for concern will be noted down along with dates on the back of the boarding agreement form. If we feel there is any major causes for concern, we will contact you immediately to discuss further action.

If during your stay we feel your pet/pets require veterinary treatment we will contact you beforehand if you wish for us to do so. There is a section on the booking in form which allows you to state yes or no for this.

During your pets stay we will do our upmost to follow your instruction and any specific requirement you may have.

If you sign a social media release form we will post about your animals regularly. Alternatively we are more than happy to provide individual updates if you wish.

Please note: We cannot look after animals that fall into the DWA category.
